... Join A RVSHRM Committee
The
mission of our chapter is: to be the recognized
regional leader and voice of human resource management
and to provide
quality services to our members. To support our mission we
request that you participate on a committee. The following
committee opportunities are available to you. Please contact
the committee chairs for detailed information.
PROGRAM
COMMITTEE - This committees
primary goal is to present meaningful and informative programs
during
our monthly meetings. Members will also strive to organize
and coordinate special programs that meet the needs of our
members.
STUDENT
CHAPTER COMMITTEE - Members work with student chapters,
administer the scholarship program, and promote
a relationship between the academic and business communities.
MEMBERSHIP
COMMITTEE - Members work on ways to recruit and
retain members, publish the chapter directory, develop
ideas to promote networking and the integration of new chapter
members.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION - Members work on ways to
assist chapter members on becoming certified with PHR and SPHR.
LEGISLATIVE
COMMITTEE - Members develop ways to educate members
on state and federal legislation, as well as how to
lobby in support of HR legislation.
MARKETING
COMMITTEE - Members seek to put our chapter in
the forefront of HR happenings in Roanoke, publicizing
activities and promoting the chapter as a professional organization:
handles advertising and publicity.
ARRANGEMENTS
COMMITTEE - Members assist with registration at
each monthly meeting, greet chapter members and collect
money. Must be able to attend regularly.
HISTORIAN -
Members help to develop our chapter history. Our chapter
reached its 50th anniversary in 2003. The recording of the
chapter's history would include pictures, when appropriate,
and details about events.
TECHNOLOGY
COMMITTEE - Members will maintain the
chapters website, and make recommendations for updates,
additions and changes.
DIVERSITY TASKFORCE - Members focus on increasing diversity
within our chapter and educate the membership on diversity issues.
WORKFORCE
READINESS - Members are responsible for partnering
with local schools and other educational institutions
to provide feedback and support to prepare graduates to enter
the workforce.
