Hope you were lucky

do to help minimize that impact.

held at the Roanoke Civic Center. The award
recognized our chapter's volunteer efforts and
sponsorship. Johna Campbell and I were there to
receive the award.
A special thank you to Rebecca Reynolds,

seconded by Becky Reynolds to approve the
minutes of the March 27, 2007, Board
Meeting. The motion was passed.
Becky Reynolds announced that we have 268
active members. Becky distributed the 2004
Membership Survey. In an effort to provide
more social opportunities, an ice cream
social was proposed for the middle of
August, on a Friday, at 3:00 p.m. at the
Greenfield Center. The general consensus was
to plan such an event. Becky also
distributed a list of inactive RVSHRM
members. Becky noted that new member
orientation is still in process.
Barbara Phelps introduced Jaime Martis as
the new Chairman for the Newsletter.
Michelle Glynn announced that a meeting will
be held on May 1st with the Virginia Western
Student Chapter. Michelle and Barbara Phelps
will work together to see if the Roanoke
College Chapter is still active. There must
be eight members for the chapter to exist.
David Wolfe has requested that he be
relieved of his website duties. Sharon
Bowers and Barbara Phelps will investigate
opportunities for future website
maintenance. Kimberly Barefoot was suggested
as a person to contact for possible website
assistance.

will be filing our taxes. The new bank
account for state conference funds will be
opened following the tax filing.
Lauren Prada announced she will attend the
Statewide Forum on Workforce Readiness. She
announced that classes are being held at
William Fleming, and she is working with her
teacher at Fleming on workplace etiquette
classes.
Jeff VanDoren suggested that we consider
buying a projector versus renting it from
the Hotel at a price of $300 per meeting. He
will get prices and report back at a future
date.
Donna Tatum distributed letterhead to Board
Members.
It was announced that 61 members registered
for today’s meeting.

at 11:00 a.m., National College. A
discounted fee of $30 will be offered to
RVSHRM members.

job changes, consulting business
advertisements, etc. on the website. Sharon

providing an HR service providers link on
the RVSHRM website.
